About Us

Since establishing Lakeland Fells Furniture in 2004 when he was 21, Andrew has built a reputation for quality furniture creation and design, from children’s toys to boardroom tables.
Andrew’s team manufactured the furniture for the luxury Cedar Manor Hotel which, with local design team Fidget, won the international award for the best hotel interior. What often first catch the eye of clients are the toy trains and the wooden aeroplane in the showroom. We made quite a few wooden cars a few years ago to give to clients, but it’s developed into a successful range in its own right.
We have now expanded the concept to include a place to put the toys - wooden toy boxes. There’s nothing we cannot create with wood, from a toy car to a spiral staircase. www.fidgetdesign.com/
The former Kendal College cabinet-making student has now launched a separate kitchen design and fitting division, Special Spaces, which extends the bespoke offering available through the furniture company to provide the very best of modern kitchen units, bedroom furniture appliances alongside examples of his superb range of fitted and free-standing furniture positioned within room settings that can help guide transformation in your home or business.
The Special Spaces showroom is a short distance from the furniture workshops which are the base for Andrew’s team of young craftsmen.
The extended Special Spaces showroom has been created by amalgamating creative talent available the immediate area:
Among those convinced by his policy is Malcolm Ogden of the Bowness Hapimag Resort who recognises Andrew’s attention to detail and employment of young, dedicated craftsmen. Jason Dearden of the Windermere Marina Village, where Andrews’s team re-fitted more than 90 flood-hit bedrooms and has recently undertaken the fitting out of new-build apartments at the Marina, adds: “The furniture is outstanding in quality and durability.”
Andrew lives in Windermere with wife Donna and daughters Betsy and Molly and Golden Retriever Florence.
